How to get to the hostel

On foot

From airport
You can reach the hostel on foot. Exiting from the airport, you have to cross the car park, that is in front of you. Then you cross the street and go straight on until you reach the bridge over the railway. Go through the bridge and go down the stairs. Turn right and go on until you reach the hostel on your right.

With Pisa Mover

With PisaMover
You can also take the PisaMover train to the Central Railway station and then on foot for the last 500 meter. The cost of PisaMover ticket is of 2.70 euro.

Once out of the train station, just turn right and follow the main road straight on until you reach the hostel.

How to get to the event

From hostel on foot

Exiting from the hostel turn left and go straight until you reach the Central Station square. Turn right, cross the street and reach the next square, Vittorio Emanuele II Square. Walk in Corso Italia, the main shopping street of Pisa and turn left at the first,  Alessandro Manzoni street. Continue in Francesco Niosi Street and turn right at the second crossroad, Qualquonia Street. Turn left and the location is on your right.









Do I have to be in the aerospace industry to attend?

No, everyone is welcome.  Whether you are a student, an active or retired professional, an enthusiast, a teacher, or a certified space geek, you are welcome to attend the event!

Will food and meals be provided?

Yes, breakfasts, lunches, snacks and beverages are included. If you are vegetarian or have any intolerances you can specify it in the form provided during the ticket purchase process. There will be food also for you, don’t worry!

Dinners are not included.

Is it possible to bring pets?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to bring animals.

Is it necessary to bring a laptop to do a presentation?

If you want to use it during the session grid then yes, it is better you bring your own laptop. There is one projector available in each room for presentations. For the T minus 5 talks, however, the computer is not needed, you just have to send us the presentation beforehand.


How is it possible to get to the SpaceUp?

The SpaceUp location is well connected by bus. The travel guide will be posted soon with more details.

Is it mandatory to do a T-5 presentation or hold a grid session?

No, but we strongly suggest you to do it! The SpaceUp is a very dynamic format and everyone is encouraged to express his or her ideas. Don’t be shy!

In what language will the event be?

SpaceUps are international unconferences, so the event will be in English.

But, what exactly is an unconference?

It is all up to you! An unconference is a participant-driven meeting, which means that you can talk about whatever topic you want, as long as it concerns directly or indirectly space.

Where and when?

This SpaceUp session will take place at “Centro Congressi Le Benedettine”, Piazza San Paolo a Ripa D’Arno 56125 Pisa (PI), Italy from the 5th May at 8:30 – 18:00 to 6th May at 8:30 – 17:00 2018. Registrations start at 8:30 on 5th May 2018.

Do I have to pay?

Yes, the fee is 32 euros, which includes registration, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 coffee breaks and gadgets.
